Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving makes us think about all that we are blessed with.  Listening to our children talk about what they are thankful for makes it even better.  Everyone gets so busy these days, so its nice to take some time to just relax and enjoy our friends and family around us.

The Sunday before we hosted Matt and Christy's families here for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner since everyone was heading different directions.  We enjoyed hanging out and eating more food than we should.

We then headed back to Claflin and Great Bend for the weekend.  We enjoyed getting to hang out and see everyone.

These two were a handful together

On Saturday we went to my cousin's wedding.  It was a cold and icy day, but so glad we made it.  Of course I didn't get a picture of the beautiful bride, but the boys enjoyed dancing with her.  They were loving the dance floor.  Look out ladies, the Beck boys are in town :)  It was adorable.

It was a great weekend and makes us all excited to come back in just a few short weeks!

Football Season

Our season has come to an end at Truman High.  We had another great season finishing with an 8-3 record.  We made it three rounds into playoffs which is a step farther than last year.  I had to recap our season with a few pictures.

Laney's 1st Birthday Party

For Laney's first birthday I did a sparkle/glitter theme.  I love the quote, "She leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes."  I feel like that is perfect for her and the smile she shares with so many.

It was not one of Laney's most photogenic days.  She was keeping those big smiles from the camera.

Laney and Vi are about a month apart.

She was not really into the cake.  We tried a couple bites of the icing but thats about all.

We were blessed to have so many from our families come to celebrate our little girl with us.  Laney was a little unsure with so many people around, but warmed up as the party went on.  We got our first taste of pink toys in this house and she has loved playing with them.  Putting her to bed that night really made it all hit me.  Seeing the little girl toys in place in her room made me realize she isn't a baby anymore.  It pulls at my heart, but I also feel so blessed to have the beautiful little girl she is growing in to.  We love you Laney!

Laney is a One Year Old

Time gets faster the older I get, just like everyone tells you.  Our little lady is moving on from the baby stage and is officially ONE!  It doesn't seem possible.

Update:
  • She is wearing 9 month and 12 month clothes.  Still in 3 diapers.
  • She does both bottles and sippy cups (I'm ready to get out of bottles)
  • Her sleep lately has gotten off.  She wakes up sometimes a couple times a night and just screams and needs rocked to get back to sleep.  Yes she has her momma wrapped around her finger.  Her cries break my heart.
  • Still naps twice a day if we are home.
  • Eats anything we eat and doesn't turn much down.
  • The girl has 12 teeth!!!!  Its a mouthful :)
  • She loves to get into anything at her level.  Her favorite is under my bathroom sink.
  • Laney loves to climb up on our fireplace and sit and watch everyone.
  • She has become quite sassy in the last month.  She will scream at her brothers if she doesn't get what she wants or they take things from her.
  • She LOVES attention!
  • Laney has come a long way with walking in the last week, however now she finds it funny to put her head down and be upside down.  She will take one step and then put her head down and just laugh.  We have seen her take about 5 steps on her own.

Her first Halloween

Laney,  I remember hearing, "It's a GIRL", when you were born and didn't realize how much a little girl could change our life.  You have had your Daddy wrapped around that finger since the moment he saw you.  You have such a bright smile that you share with everybody.  We are blessed in so many ways having you as our daughter!
