Lexi - 9 Months

Lexi Jo has reached the nine month milestone.  It always crazy to think they spend this long in your belly growing before you even get to meet them face to face.  Now we couldn't imagine our family any other way.

Update:
  • Height 50th percentile and Weight 25th percentile
  • Wears 6-9 month clothes.  Sleepers are the only thing starting to get a little snug.
  • Diapers are a size 3
  • This girl loves to eat!  She will sit in her high chair for a hour just eating anything you put in front of her.  She has gotten pretty good with her little pinchers.  She still nurses and/or does bottles 4 times a day as well.  Usually around 7 ounces if she does a bottle.
  • Sleeping has been a great month.  She still does a morning nap for 1-1 1/2 hours then will sleep in the afternoon for 2 hours or so.  She is ready for bed about 8 and sleeps until 7:30-8 in the morning.
  • Lexi is the happiest little girl in the morning.  She just looks around the room needing everyone's attention to give them a big smile.  It is pretty precious.
  • I still wouldn't call her a crawler, but she does seem to be getting closer.  The last day she has shown signs of figuring it out.
  • She has started to want to pull herself up on furniture a little bit.
  • Lexi still loves to be held and will give you the biggest smile if you pick her up.
  • She loves to be outside and watch all the kids play.
  • We introduced her to the wagon this month and she thinks it's pretty great :)
  • She gained two more teeth this month.  Now she has the two on top and two on bottom.

Looking forward to summer and all the new adventures with her!

School is Out

Lawson finished preschool and Luke kindergarten last week.  It was a whirlwind of a year and both seemed to really enjoy school.  Lawson is pretty quiet about it, but has done a great job.  Luke will tell you all about anything and had a great year.

Now for summer with these four!!

Laney is 2 1/2

Laney is 2 1/2 today.  She is such a sweet and sassy little thing.  She blesses us with so many smiles and laughs every day.

Laney has a mix of personalities that come out.  She has started to become more opinionated which leads to the sassiness.  She tries to run the show with her two older brothers.  Sometimes they are on board, other times not so much.  When she gets around big crowds or people she doesn't know she gets much more reserved.  She is hard to even get a smile out of.  We have more break downs at these times as well.  When in her own element or around people she knows she has such a bubbly personality though.  She likes to show off and act silly.  She can be quite the little entertainer.  She is fairly predictable in with her emotions, which helps know how to help her through the tougher times.  Love her and all the personalities that come with that little girl!

Laney doesn't like to be left out of things.  She wants to be right in there with the older kids and do what they do.  It is crazy how much she has grown out of baby and into little girl in just months.  Her vocabulary has developed and we can figure out almost everything she tries to say now.  When she has words mixed up she responds well to help of what she needs to say and will remember it for next time.  I am starting to believe more and more that she is a lefty.  She has started to like to color and draw so I have noticed the left had much more lately.  She also throws a ball with the left.

She is all girl in her own little world!  She likes to be a part of picking out her clothes and wants to "look cute".  Laney lets me do her hair to keep it out of her face.  We have gotten better about sitting still and letting me braid or do something a little more elaborate.  She loves to play dress up!  We do lots of tutus and crowns, but she loves the jewelry especially bracelets.  Her favorite things are the movie "Trolls", the color purple, berries are her favorite to eat, her blanket is a must to sleep with and she likes playing outside.

Eating wise Laney goes in spurts.  Some meats she just chows down, others barely touches.  She doesn't do a lot of disliking things, just doesn't have the need to eat.  She will snack all day if allowed though.  Sleeping is hit or miss as well.  She usually naps very well for 2-3 hours at home.  If other places it can be more challenging.  At night she has gotten into the prayer routine with the boys.  She is our one that tends to come back out of her room though after getting tucked in.  She just doesn't need as much sleep at night I guess, at least in her mind.

Daddy is a favorite for her.  She yells when he walks in everyday.  She likes to go to the store or run errands with him.  If up at his office she has to put a helmet on and show everyone.  My favorite thing though is that she requests for Daddy to sing to her every night.  It is the sweetest thing.  She alternates between "Don't Take the Girl" and "Down the Road", country girl :)  It's a very special thing for these two and I hope it's something she will always remember.

Laney has embraced the roll of Big Sister.  She loves Lexi and helping with her.  When she holds her she likes me to document the moment with a picture.  I'm not sure how the relationship will go when Lexi starts crawling and getting more interested in Laney's toys, but we shall see how that goes.

Laney, we love you so much and everything you bring to our family.  Your smile and laugh brighten our day.  We are so blessed to be your parents!
