State Fair

I know it has been a couple of weeks now, but we did make a trip to the State Fair this year.  Lukas and I tagged along with Grandpa and Grandma Keeley and met up with Aunt Beth to go check it out.  The weather was great and we got to see all sorts of things.  Lukas really liked all of the carnival rides; he must get that from his dad cause I don't handle rides very well :)

*****We also want to wish Aunt Beth safe travels as she heads to Louisiana today!  We will miss you a lot, but are very excited for this next adventure in your life :)  Love you! *****

The Home Stretch

Well here it is, the final stretch of the pregnancy.... the last month.  I am 37 weeks as of today and just counting down the weeks until this little bundle arrives.  Erin and I are getting very anxious to find out if it is a boy or girl.  I can't really say I have any "mother's intuition" on what it is.  I go back and forth too much.  Whichever way, we are very excited to meet the new addition to our family.

I am starting to wonder/worry about how Lukas is going to handle all of this, and how I am going to handle all of this with him.  He has been our whole life for over 2 years now.  I know people have two plus kids all the time, but I am still struggling with how everything is going to work.  I worry probably more than anything about being a good mother to both.  I worry about not spending enough time with each child and giving them the attention they need and want.  I don't want Lukas to feel left out because the new baby is here, but I also don't want to look back and wish I had bonded better with the baby like I got to with Lukas.  I am sure everything just works out, but right now it is all just so many questions to be answered.

Sorry little freak out moment there :)  Overall this pregnancy has gone very well and has just flown by.  It is crazy that October is only a week away.  It has been very different for me this time since I have been working through the end of the pregnancy as opposed to being home for the summer when Lukas was born.  It definitely takes a toll on my body and am very tired at the end of the day, but luckily our whole house is so we go to bed early and try to get a lot of sleep.  Lukas loves to hang out in the baby's room.  He will take his cars in there and drive them around or just go and sit in the rocking chair.  He is just so cute and excited about being a big brother.  I am very excited to see them together.  We can't wait to be holding the baby in our arms!

Here are some random pictures to enjoy of life lately.  Lukas is ready for anything!

Take the poll at the right to guess what gender you think the baby is :)

Wedding Weekend

Over the weekend we made a quick trip to KC to be a part of Kyle's wedding.  Erin and Kyle were roommates through college and one of the first guys we met going to college.  Since we had a football game Friday night we missed some of the weekend festivities, but had a great time getting to see so many college friends and catch up with everyone.  It was a gorgeous wedding for such a great couple!  I had never been to an Italian wedding, but their tradition with the cake and cookies is something I could get used :)

Please excuse the horrible pictures.  I really did take the camera with us, but I left it in the diaper bag.  We used Erin's phone so they are a little blurry.

The guys with the groom.

The cake and homemade cookies.... YUMMY

Lukas was a trooper through all of the traveling and loved getting to spend some quality time with his cousins Cade and Reese.  Aunt Jana I'm sure didn't have a real relaxing weekend with the three of them, but she kept reassuring us things were going well. :)

Baby Shower

A couple of weeks ago, I helped host a baby shower for my good friend Amanda who is expecting her first little angel at the end of the month.  Nothing gets you in the baby mood more than a bunch of ladies sitting around talking about babies!  I also got to try out a few pinterest projects that turned out great for the shower.  It was so much fun to decorate with all the pink and bows.  Amanda is having a baby girl in a matter of weeks, and we can not wait for her to get here!

Check out the Diaper Motorcycle..... How cute is that :)

The cake not only looked adorable, but tasted delicious too!

Artistic Abilities

Lukas has started to LOVE to color recently.  We color with crayons, pencils, chalk, and the expo marker that Mom forgot was out downstairs.  He went to town in the basement while I was trying to get a load of laundry started. Here are just a few of his sketches :)
