The Great Wolf Lodge Weekend

Last weekend, Erin's family came up for a visit.  We started out with the football game Friday night and then spend the rest of the weekend out at Legends enjoying the sights.  They got a room at The Great Wolf Lodge, which we have never stayed at before so I was excited to see what it was all about.  They have about anything you could think of, although we didn't participate in it all.  I was amazed at how busy it was on a random weekend in October.

The boys entertaining themselves at the football game.
We all got a chance to try out the indoor water park.  I didn't get any pictures during this time since I was enjoying the water with the boys (and no one wants to see me in a suit at 8 1/2 months pregnant), but we had a great time.  I wasn't sure how adventurous the boys would get on all the slides but they loved it.  Lawson was even going on the slides by himself by the end.  Luke ventured out and went on a couple of the big slides as well.  Having Loghan there to lead the way is always helpful.  Luke would follow her in anything.

We also got to help support the Hemophilia Walk for Brooke and Chance Connell over the weekend.  There was a great turn out and nice morning for a little family exercise.

The stroller walk really wore this little man out.

Luke and Loghan
It was a great weekend with everyone and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon!

Lawson Turns 2

The little boy that has been growing up before our eyes turns 2 today.  Lawson has been my baby for the past two years, and as we get closer to adding another sibling it makes me realize how much he has grown up.  He is my stubborn little man, that has brought so much joy to our lives.

You were soo tiny.

  • We go to the doctor in a week so don't have the official stats.
  • He is our ornery child, with a very stubborn attitude
  • LOVES football, especially the tackling part
  • Idolizes his big brother and everything he does
  • Likes to play "fight" with the Ninja Turtle weapons, calls himself Mikey every time no matter what the color or weapon of choice
  • His favorite word is probably "NO"
  • Lawson likes to color, especially with markers
  • Has started to become very independent and likes to try to help out
  • Sleeps in a big boy bed, taking random toys to bed with him each night
  • Has mentioned the thought of going the bathroom on the toilet, but we haven't really worked for anymore than that
  • Has a sweet side which brings out a cuddly little boy every now and then, moments I love
  • Has a contagious laugh and smile :)
  • Not real sure about becoming a big brother.  When we say he is going to be a big brother he just says, Bubba (Luke) the big brother, I'm the baby.
  • Loves chocolate milk, cookies, and marshmallows
  • Enjoys taking a shower, almost more than a bath.  If he had it his way he would shut the door and kick us out.
  • Has such a cute "cheese"face and likes to take pictures
  • Says please, thank you, and sorry (sometimes prompted
  • He is a very messy eater, a good eater, but very messy
  • Has started asking us to sleep with him, I have been taking advantage of it and taking the extra cuddles

Happy 2nd Birthday Lawson!  We love you more than you will ever know.

O What a Night!!!

The Royals are on a roll, and last night the guys got to be part of it.  We celebrated Dad's 57th birthday this weekend, and he got tickets to the playoff game to celebrate.  It was a guys' night to enjoy at the stadium.  I was a little unsure how it would go when he said Luke and Cade got tickets as well, but they loved it!  Luckily it didn't go into extra innings and the rain didn't come until the last couple.  The Royals ended the series with a sweep and moved on to the ALCS.  I'm just glad the next game isn't until Friday so we can catch up on some sleep this week.

Getting ready to load up to head to the game.

Digging through the bag and look what we found.

Such a good picture and a GREAT MEMORY!
