Big Boy Eating

Lawson has started on the baby food. He was a little hesitant at first, but I realized I need to try it out when he isn't quite ready to eat.  This gives him a little more patience with me and will attempt to eat it.  Once he figures out that his tongue goes down we are good to go.  It is very important to have everything read before we start, because if I have to get up or slow the spoon down we have a serious melt down and the eating session is done.  He is a big fan of the sweet potatoes and the sweet corn.  He tried the green beans and peas, but those take a little more time to eat.  He is doing a great job though and excited to try some fruits this week!  (I wanted to do more pictures, but it is taking forever to upload so this is all for now)

What are we doing here Mom?

Loving it :)

**We also found Lawson's first tooth yesterday!  It has just started to poke through.**

My Little Monkey

Lukas has become our little monkey.  He wants to climb and hang on anything around.  Nothing scares him, which just scares Mom even more :)

What a cutie!

1st Communion

Last weekend we got to be a part of a very special day for our niece Loghan, celebrating her 1st Communion.  She looked adorable in her white dress and veil.  I love hearing her talk about all the things she is learning about Jesus and God from school.  She was so excited about the day and all smiles!  Lukas was really excited he got to go and play at Loghan's house.  She has a fish tank that he could sit and look at for hours.  It was a wonderful day to spend with family and a great reason to get together!

Half Way There

Today marks the half way mark to Lawson's first birthday!  He is growing and getting very involved in everything around him.  I can't believe he has been with us for half of a year already.

6 month pictures:

Lawson's update:
  • He is still Mr. Smiley.  I absolutely love to see his smile!
  • He just lights up when you give him attention and talk to him
  • Rolling all over the place to get what he wants
  • More active and wanting to play with things around him
  • Grabs everything within reach, very curious about people's faces and loves to grab at them (those little fingers can pinch really hard)
  • Still no teeth
  • We started in on the baby food last week and is doing a great job with it.  Wants to eat all the time
  • Wears size 2 diapers
  • 6-9 month clothes
  • He eats about 7 ounces every 3-4 hours
  • Sleeps pretty good, some nights all night, but usually up to eat once a night
  • Wants to play with Lukas all the time
  • Lukas likes to wrestle with him and even though I freak out a little, Lawson just laughs and yells along with Lukas
  • I love watching those 2 interact with each other.  Lukas is big into playing with Lawson right now.
  • Bath time has become splash time
  • Can hold himself up to sit for a bit, but doesn't last long before head diving into the carpet
  • Lawson found his feet this month.  He loves to pull them up to his face and grab them
  • He also loves to hear his voice and makes noises all the time

As One Door Closes.....

Another door opens.  Luckily that is my parents' door until we can get into our new house.  Yep that's right, everyone seems to give a little chuckle when we tell them, but Erin, me, and the two boys have moved in to my parents' house.  Lets go back a bit and explain;  Erin and I officially decided back in the first part of January to take on the new challenge as a family and move to Missouri.  Well as you know we are both teachers, so moving right now is not an option because we have jobs here and our new jobs will not begin until August.  No big deal right, well 2 days after we made the decision a friend called about the house.  They knew a couple that had been looking and thought our house would be perfect for them.  Apparently it is and we had a contract on it the following week.  Now those of you thinking about a calendar realize this is now the middle of January.  The couple agreed to let use stay until the end of March.  So now we are out of our home and packed in boxes for 2 months to finish out the school year.  Dad and Mom have been great though and we have our own little apartment area upstairs.  Mom is sharing the cooking duties with me, which I love.  The boys are loving all of the extra attention they get at Grandpa and Grandma's.

It was difficult for me to walk back through the house the final time.  I have so many wonderful memories in it from growing up with my grandparents, to bringing my babies home to it.  I worried about how Lukas would handle the move, but he seems to be on cloud nine getting to play with all the toys here everyday.  It was a wonderful home for four years and the first home Erin and I bought; but as mentioned earlier this door has closed and we look forward to making a new home in Missouri.

Happy Easter

What a wonderful thing to celebrate and bring our focus back to our faith.  It is so humbling to think about the sacrifice Jesus went through for us, then three days later performing another miracle and rising from the dead.  So many blessings in our life, and so much to be thankful for!

We enjoyed a wonderful Easter holiday with family and friends.  We crammed a lot of things into just 3 days, but made some wonderful memories.
