My New Adventure...

So I have held off a little on posting about this.  I wanted to actually try out some of the products before I went promoting them, but after almost 2 months I thought it was time.  I have become a Norwex Sales Consultant.  What is Norwex you ask?  It is a company that is working "to improve the quality of life by radiacally reducing the use of chemicals in personal care and cleaning."

There are all sorts of different products you can pick from.  I have gotten to use many of the products now and love how easy it has made cleaning my house.  I love knowing that I am able to get my home clean by using just water and no harsh chemicals around my kiddos.  (It saves some money as well not buying cleaning products.)

If I have sparked your interest and you want to learn more, let me know.  I would love to share about my experience and the Norwex company.  Below is a link you can check out as well to see the products and some information on them.  You can also order anything you want to try or need.

Diving into this is not something I was searching for, but have enjoyed so much about it.  The products are amazing.  It was has been a great 2 months so far and I look forward to my journey ahead!

3 1/2 Years of Lukas

Today marks 3 1/2 years since Lukas was born.  He is such an energetic little boy I thought I better get some things written down so I won't forget.  (Sorry for some repeated pictures)

  • His hair seems to have turned a little more dirty blonde, unless that is just because it is longer than the usually buzzed summer look.
  • Does great with potty training except we do wear a pull up at night.
  • He does a good job of eating.  His favorites are probably pizza, corn dogs, and ice cream
  • Trains, Ninja Turtles, and cars are his toys of choice
  • He loves to read books, do puzzles, and getting a little more interested in craft activities
  • Still loves bath time and splashing all over with Lawson
  • He is very good at talking and having conversations.  My favorites are when he asks how my day was or when he says "Good Morning Mom".
  • Just listening to him talk is entertaining to those around him.

Lukas has become Mr. Independent
  • He likes to try everything on his own in the mornings, he will get up, get his own cup out of cabinet, and poor his juice or milk.  One day in an attempt to make chocolate milk he had a cup with just the chocolate syrup.  Luckily he didn't care much for it and has not attempted that again.
  • He will tell you what he wants and if you are doing it wrong.
  • He doesn't want any help in brushing his teeth.  We do at least make sure we put the toothpaste on the brush.  I think the electric toothbrush helps a little to get them cleaner, I tell myself that anyway.
  • He helps set the table for dinner time.
  • We are still working on the dressing himself.  He has the pants figured out, but doesn't like doing the shirt.
  • He likes routine and knowing what the plan is.  We talk a lot about everything on our list for the day.  He really likes talking about options and picking what we do.

Lukas is a busy little boy, always on the go.
  • He loves to run and talk about how fast he is, especially in his fast shoes.
  • We race to get places all the time.
  • We do have a habit of getting all of our toys out just to make a mess.  He thinks it is funny, but then apologizes because he knows he isn't supposed to get them all out.  Its a work in progress.
  • He loves discovering things outside so the cold weather has been rough on him, unless there is snow he wants to be out in it no matter the temperature.
  • He has made so many little friends in just 3 years and is always asking to go play at their house to play.

Lukas is my sensitive boy.  He is very caring and concerned for others.  He tends to be a little dramatic about his own injuries at times.  He doesn't like people to be upset and will console others when they are.  The toughest one for me is on our way to daycare in the mornings he will tell me how much he is going to miss me.  He is just such a sweety.  Lukas needs his "chill" time when he gets overwhelmed.  He goes and lays in his bed for a little while just to regroup.  This is something he does on his own.  Not sure where it came from, but it seems to really help him.  When he regroups he just comes back out to play.

He is a wonderful big brother!  He loves playing with his brother and has already mastered tricking him into doing what he wants.  It's always so convenient that Lawson wants to give Lukas the toy he wants in exchange for something different :)  We are continuing to work on our sharing and taking turns.  He knows the words, but usually just wants it to work in his favor.  He wants a new bed where one is high and one is low (bunk beds).  He says that way Lawson and him can share.

Lukas makes us laugh and smile everyday!  The things he says and does just surprise us and the things he picks up on.  He makes it pretty difficult to trick him anymore.  He just knows so much.  Seeing the smile on his face can just make me forget about any troubles and just want to curl up with him and cuddle.  Lukas is a wonderful little boy that has taught us so much about life.  We are so thankful God has blessed us with him.

Beck Christmas

On Christmas Eve after mass we headed over to Claflin to begin our next family Christmas.  It is so nice to be able to see both of our families during the holidays and get to spend quality time with each.

On Christmas Eve we enjoyed Strube Family Christmas.  The boys love to hang out with more cousins and chase all of the dogs around.  We even got a visit from Santa himself.  I didn't know how the boys would react.  Lawson pretty much just stared at him, but had no problem sitting on his lap for a picture.  Lukas was star struck.  He just stared at him with a huge smile on his face.  It was the first time one of my boys weren't screaming with fear for a picture.

We then headed to Grandpa and Grandma Beck's for the next 3 days.  Everyone go there by Christmas day and again had some quality family time.  The older 3 grand kids got new scooters for Christmas.  We were lucky and even though there was snow all around, it warmed up enough to get out of the house and enjoy it.  We got a chance to just hang out without any big plans.  It was nice to just relax and eat more than I should have.   It was a wonderful holiday all around!

Keeley Christmas

Our Christmas week started out with the boys and I heading back to Great Bend on Friday after school.  Erin stayed to go to the KU and Chiefs games, so off we went hoping to beat the snow. We had a great trip back and started the holiday off with a bang since all of my siblings and in-laws made it back as well.

On Saturday we did some quality game playing and the girls even went to get our nails done.  That is when the snow started to fall.  It continued to fall for the next eight hours or so and covered the area with about a foot of snow.  We had our white Christmas, but had to miss out on the Schartz Family Christmas in Wichita Sunday.  We were all so excited about our "Z" gift exchange (we bring gifts to spell out the family name and were on the last letter Z), but had to settle with doing it just between our family.  My zipper bag and purse were probably the best :)

We got to spend a lot of time together just hanging out, eating,  laughing, and watching the kids play.  The boys were spoiled like normal and very excited about all of their new toys.  I loved getting to spend so much quality time together.  With the boys this year we worked a lot to focus on our faith and the birth of Jesus during Christmas.  It amazes me how much Lukas' little mind absorbs.  Lawson is still to young to understand the holiday at all, but he did enjoy all of the festivities :)  It was another wonderful holiday in the books for the Keeleys!

2013

2013 has been a year of a lot of change for our family.  Through all of it, I can honestly say we have grown closer and worked hard to focus on us and the needs of our boys.  We shared many smiles, laughs and some tears but most importantly formed memories to remember forever.  We look forward to finding out what 2014 has in store for us!

I did a collection of some of my favorite pictures of the year!
