Change...

When Erin and I decided that we were wanting to have a baby we knew that a lot of things would change.  One thing we talked about was the financial changes that we would have to make.  Babies are adorable to look at and soo much fun to play with, but they also need clothes to wear, food to eat, and diapers to poop in.  We had decided that we were going to work really hard at what we bought for ourselves.  Its not that we can't buy things, but they should be things that we really need more than just want.  I must say that my husband has done a great job with this!  I was a little worried how it would go, but he really has worked hard to only get things he actually needs.  (Erin has been a bit of an impulse buyer in the past, so you can see why I was a little worried.)  There is only one problem that we have developed with this new plan.....

Erin now tends to make impulse purchases for LUKAS!  I had always been able to talk Erin out of the purchases for him, but I struggle with the things for Lukas.  They are just always such cute things!  Like this new Tigger, he is so soft and cuddly.  Why wouldn't Lukas need him to hug and play with!!!!  I am really hoping we can learn to control ourselves before Christmas gets here.  Letting us loose in a mall to prepare for Lukas' first Christmas could be very very dangerous, especially for our bank account!

We are going to just enjoy the great things he has for now with more pictures of Lukas and his new friend.

He holds that head up so well!

How do you say "no" to these adorable faces :)

3 Months

Another month has come and gone and Lukas is changing so much!  I love every minute of it :)

1 month

2 months

3 months

Lukas was not so into pictures this month :)

Things about Lukas at 3 months:
  • He laughs and smiles so much!!!
  • He talks to us too!  Erin and I just sit and talk to him as he babbles and coos.
  • He grabs at his toys.  He has figured out the one that makes noise when he pulls it.
  • The pacifier is not as tasty as his fingers that he discovered.
  • He sucks on the fingers a lot; he sticks 2 sometimes 3 in the mouth.
  • He drools and blows bubbles.
  • His legs are very strong and he likes to kick constantly
  • He figured out how to splash the water with his legs during bath time
  • He tries to stand up.
  • The camera STILL freaks him out.  He will just stare at it when you try to take a picture of him.
  • BIG NEWS of the month is ....... Lukas as started to roll over!!  He rolled for the first time a day before he was 3 months old.  He goes from his back to his tummy, but then gets mad because he can't figure out how to get back over.
Here are some more pictures from the month.  ENJOY!!

    Pumpkin Patch

Sunday was such a great day that we decided to get out and enjoy the weather. We took Lukas to Granny Mae's Pumpkin Patch! Grandpa and Grandma Beck came along with us to check it out. None of us had ever been there before, but I had heard good things about it. We were all very impressed by everything. They had a bunch of things for people to do like a train ride, a playground where kids could run and slide down hay bails, pumpkin painting, a corn maze, hay rack ride, gift shops, refreshment stands, and of course the pumpkin patch. We look forward to going back next year, and maybe Lukas will be able to get a little more involved :)

Lukas was tuckered out by the end of our day :)

    Day with Daddy!

Lukas has been looking forward to Friday all week! Yes, he is just like his parents and loves our family time on the weekends, but this Friday was even more special. He got to spend the whole day with DADDY! Erin had the day off of work so Lukas got to stay home with him instead of going to the babysitter. Let me tell you, I was VERY VERY jealous :) I am glad they get to have some bonding time though. Erin has been alone with Lukas many times, however this was the first time to have him all day. They had a wonderful day together! When I got to come home, Lukas was just smiling and laughing and telling me about all of the things they had been doing. I'm so glad that they had a good day together, and I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband!!

    Go Ichabods!!

Lukas has been to many football games in his first 2 months of life, but last Saturday he got to watch the game with his Daddy! (usually we are watching him coach) I think its a whole new game for him when he has Dad talking about what is going on. He learned so much :)

Saturday we went with Jordan and Katrina to the Washburn vs FHSU game. We went up for the afternoon to tailgate and enjoy the evening game. It got a little chilly, but Lukas is great at keeping you warm.

A Washburn win was the perfect way to end the evening!!!!! Go BODS!!!!
