Life Lately

I feel like so much has happened in the last couple of weeks.  We have been busy traveling all over.  The boys and I made a trip to Omaha with Grandma to help Aunt Christy with some wedding things.  (It is right around the corner)  Then we have been making multiple trips to KC to try and find a house.  We have looked at so many houses in so many areas that I feel like I should change my profession and be a realtor :)  jk  I think we have finally found "the one" though and are excited to get all of the paper work done.

This past trip to KC we got to spend some time with a lot of family though so that was a bonus.  We were able to stay with Matt and Jana so Lukas was very very excited about going to Cade's house.  He can list off what toys any of his friends have at their house.  It is quite impressive.  Those two are hilarious to watch though and poor sweet Reese just tries to mind her own business which is hard when Lukas and Cade are around and into everything.  Then we got to head down to Crown Center and see all of Erin's family.  Evin and Kayla had made the trip to KC with their whole crew to watch the Ole Miss Rebels play in the NCAA tournament.  Lukas got to make a trip to Lego land with the crew.  Apparently our son is the crazy kid of the group and it has been suggested we may want to look into a backpack strap/ leash for when we move to the area.  :)  He is a quick one if I do say so myself.  It was a great weekend and enjoyed seeing everyone.  We got back ahead of the snow so we could get the house all packed up for the big move later this week.  As if things aren't crazy enough!

Vegas Vacation

To kick off spring break this year, Erin and I decided to do a little couple's vacation.  We headed out to Las Vegas, Nevada for four days.  We both had been there before, but never together.  We were also joined by the Klassen's who had never been.  We had a great time seeing the sights and enjoying the beautiful weather.  Its hard to believe that a week ago I was walking around in 80 degree weather with shorts on.  Now I find myself in sweats on my couch looking out to a couple of inches of snow on the ground.  Crazy weather, make up your mind!

We did a lot of the normal sight seeing, but got to a few new things for us as well.  We made the trek to Freemont Street and went to the Pawn Shop.  Didn't see any of the people from the show, but the store was neat.  Erin and I also went to our first Circus O' Le show, La Reve.  It was an amazing show!  I can't believe the things those people can do!

It was a great trip and enjoyed getting to spend some quality time with Erin.  The kiddos stayed home with the grandparents.  We learned of all the new things Lukas says we need to get cause grandpa and grandma have them.  I was excited to see them though when we got back!

5 Month Mark

Lawson is 5 months old today.  He is such a cutie and has changed our family so much.  He makes us smile every time you see him!

Monthly Pics:

All about Lawson:
  • He is Mr. Smiley and laughs all the time
  • At his Dr.'s appointment last weekend he weighed 13lbs. 8 oz (25 percentile) 25 1/4 inches long (35 percentile.  He is a little guy and I'm okay with that :)
  • Eats 6-7oz of milk every 4 hours.  I think he would eat all day long if I could keep up.
  • Wears 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothes, sometimes 0-3 in pants.
  • Sleeping has been a tough month.  He struggles with soothing himself and wants help getting back to sleep when he wakes up in the middle of the night.  We went through a couple of weeks of waking up every couple of hours.  Good news now though is he is doing much better and we are all getting more sleep.  (I hope I am not jinxing myself)
  • He rolls all over the place.  He moves with a purpose to get what he wants.
  • Lawson seems to just adore Lukas.  If Lukas is in the room, Lawson will just stare at him and watch his every move.
  • Lukas is ready to play with Lawson and not sure why he has to be so careful around him :)
  • Lawson is very ticklish on his tummy and neck.
  • His hair is growing back in, but seems to be lighter in color
  • He loves the bouncy/jumpers.  At daycare he just hangs out in it and watches all of the other kids.  He goes nuts jumping up and down.  He is going to have some strong little legs.
