The Time Has Come....

for us to say good bye.  We are moving to Blue Springs, Mo on Friday.  We have been talking about this since January and now the day is here.  I have so many emotions going through me.  The toughest part for me is just the whole idea of change.  I struggle with change; I like what I know and the comfort of it.  I am moving from the town I grew up in and know where EVERYTHING is at.  I just keep telling myself that in a couple of months I will be comfortable in our new town and know where everything I need is.  I will miss my co-workers and classroom.  I have had 4 years of coming in everyday knowing what to expect.  The biggest change though will be leaving our friends and family.  We appreciate all the love and support we have received, especially in making this decision.  The friendships we have formed are amazing, and we look forward to getting to still see everyone just not as frequently and in different settings.

Excitement though is the other emotion I have.  Erin and I talk about the future and it does make me excited for all of the things ahead of us.  I know I will adjust to the new and we will get situated.  I can't wait for Lukas and Lawson to see the new house.  I already picture Lawson scooting himself all over the place, and Lukas dragging toys out everywhere.  I love to see the excitement in Lukas' face when we talk about moving to KC.  Granted he associates it with getting to play with Cade and all his toys and play with Hagen and his trains.  He also is very concerned with where the play set is and doesn't want us to forget it.  I am excited to get to spend more time with all of the family and friends that live up that way as well!  It will be nice to have some familiar faces around for both me and the boys :)

Through it all I have been putting my faith in God that we have made the right decision for our family.  I can't help but feel it is perfect because of the way things have worked themselves out, between finding jobs, homes, and maybe even daycare (keep your fingers crossed).  God works in amazing ways, and I know he has a plan for us.

My Sister Became a MRS.

Last weekend we all headed to Omaha to be a part of Mitch and Christy's wedding weekend!  It was a wonderful weekend with many memories and lots of family time.  Lukas and Cade (my nephew) have been talking about the wedding for months now.  They just knew that Christy had asked them to be ring bears and they were pumped for the whole shin dig to get started.  They loved every bit of it!

I had these high hopes of capturing every moment so Christy would have pictures.  In reality, when trying to get things decorated on time, try to help my hubby wrangle the kids at meals and festivities, and just enjoy the moments as they happen, very few pictures were accomplished.  (I have realized the importance of upgrading to an Iphone so that I could have a camera on me at all times)

The kiddos all loved the hotel's water park they had.  It was the perfect place to run around.  I think Lukas and Cade could have played there all day.

Love those smiles

Christy looked gorgeous and had the biggest smile all day!  Mitch has officially become my brother-in-law and joined the family.  It was such a great weekend all together.  I look forward to all the fun ahead of us and can't wait to all be settled in KC!

For more pictures on the weekend (some repeated) check out my sister and sister-in-laws blogs on the big event as well.

7 Months

In the middle of all sorts of crazy going on (Christy and Mitch's wedding festivities) Lawson is turning 7 months old.  He is growing up even faster than Lukas did which makes me so sad, but watching the two of them interact and play together makes me excited for it as well.

7 month photo shoot:

  • Catching up a bit with his height and weight.  He was 16 lbs. 6oz  and 26 in. long this week which puts him just below the 50% in both.
  • Wears size 2 diapers still, but the next box purchased will be 3s.
  • Drinks 6-7 oz of formula or milk about every 3-4 hours still.  Has cereal and a jar of food once a day as well.  We are transitioning into all formula to drink since I am struggling keeping up with him.
  • Sleep is doing alright.  He sleeps through the night multiple times a week.  When he does wake up he thinks he needs to eat though to get back to sleep which could be a little tougher with me stopping breastfeeding.  I am hoping it won't be a big deal since it is really just a comfort thing.
  • Doing great with the baby food.  We have done both vegetables and fruits now.  Sippy cup has been just to play with, not much interest in drinking out of.
  • Wears 6-9 month clothes
  • Has the cutest laugh when he is tickled.  I feel so mean doing it because I HATE to be tickled, but it is too cute to not do.
  • Grabs anything he can within reach.
  • Moves around like crazy.  He is not officially crawling, but he army crawls and scoots or rolls wherever he wants to get.  He gets farther and farther everyday.
  • Adores his big brother!  He just sits and watches him play.  Lukas is nice enough to share a toy or two usually.
  • Lukas is always checking on him and giving him hugs or kisses.  He really likes to roll around and wrestle him too.  It makes Mommy very nervous, but Lawson just smiles and laughs the whole time.
  • Loves it when Daddy tosses him into the air!  It is a great way to cheer him up if we are ever cranky.
  • Lawson has 2 teeth now, the bottom middle two.  The second one showed up about a week after the first.
  • He is a very happy baby and still just smiles at anyone.
