Lukas on Vacation

Last week Lukas got the chance to head back to Kansas and spend some extra special time with his grandparents.  He had been talking about wanting to go to their houses so I thought it would be good for him to get some individual attention away from Lawson.  It worked out great and sounds like he had a wonderful time.  Here are a few of the pictures we got from his busy week of watering plants, helping with harvest, and camping out with Cade.

Posing with the rainbows at G&G Beck's

Discovered the Coca Cola room

Working on the combine

Who wouldn't want to hire these two?

They claimed they were sleeping.... I"m not too sure about that.

Making some smores on the fire
Trying to convince G&G they should stay in the tent

Camping wore this little man out

Reunited with Lawson

Thanks again to Grandpa and Grandma Beck and Grandpa and Grandma Keeley for keeping him for the week.  He loved every bit of it and can't wait to see you all again!

Kenny Came to Town

So a couple of weeks ago Kenny Chesney was in town, and Erin and I were lucky enough to get to go to the concert.  It was kind of a last minute deal and I couldn't wait.  We have not been to many concerts so I was excited to see what it was all about.  We didn't watch much of the opening act, but went out to catch the Eli Young Band and Eric Church before Kenny.  The weather cleared off and we got to enjoy a great show!

Before we left the truck heading out into the rain
My attempt at a panoramic pic of the crowd.
(Don't mind Erin jumping in at the end)

Happy Father's Day

I want to wish a Happy Father's Day to all of the dads out there, but especially to the dads in my life.  Lukas and Lawson love their daddy!  They both just light up when he walks in the room.  Erin, thank you so much for all you do for us and for just being you!  You are an amazing dad and we LOVE you!

I also want to wish a happy father's day to my dad.  He has been a huge support to me my whole life and my biggest fan.  I wouldn't be the person I am today without him.  I love watching you with Lukas and Lawson because it reminds me so much of Grandpa Keeley.  We love you!

The third father I have to wish a great day to is my father-in-law.  You have treated me like family since Erin first introduced me.  I know Erin wouldn't be the father he is today without your influence in his life.  The boys adore you and get so excited to see you.  We love you!

We also want to wish a Happy Birthday to Grandma Beck today!!!!

(I thought I would have some fun and go old on the pictures)

Night at the K

Saturday Evening we decided to take the boys to their first Royals game.  I wasn't sure how it would go, but they did great and it was a wonderful family evening.  The weather couldn't have been more perfect and they won.  Lukas thought the big screen with the crown on top was really cool and watching the fountains and waterfalls.  We decided next time we will have to try and sit out by the outfield for him.  Lawson just loves watching all of the people.  He would jump and then smile every time the crowd would cheer.  It was a great first game and I hope we can make a lot more this summer!

Great Night!!

Lawson is 8 Months

Lawson is growing and groovin right now.  He becomes more of a little boy and less of my baby everyday.  Since I am home with the boys now for the summer, I love getting to watch and play with them all day.  It amazes me how Lawson just wants to jump in the middle of whatever Lukas is doing.  He doesn't ever want to slow down.

8 month pics:

Lawson update:
  • Not sure on height and weight, hopefully go to the doctor next month
  • His hair is getting long, blonde, and crazy!  It sticks straight up from his head in all directions.
  • Eyes are still blue
  • Wearing 3 diapers
  • wears 6-9 month clothing
  • Has 2 teeth still, but there has to be a new one coming soon.  He really seems to be struggling with the teeth right now.  He gnaws on anything and everything.  If you are barefoot around him he heads straight for your toes to chew on (gross, I know).
  • Eats about every 3 hours again, 7-8 ounces of formula.
  • Lawson has lost interest in baby food.  He only wants to eat things that he can pick up himself.  He eats pretty much all table food, puffs, and little dippers.  He is up for trying anything and doesn't like to be left out when we all sit down to eat.
  • Sleeping is going great.  He goes to bed usually around 8:30ish and wakes up anywhere from 6:45 to 8:15.  If he gets up in the early times he will eat a bottle and go back to sleep for awhile.  He naps 2 sometimes 3 times a day depending on how long the naps are.
  • He still army crawls a lot, but has started to actually get up on all four as well.  He is getting much faster at it and more confident in it daily.
  • He has started climbing on and into things and wants to check it all out.
  • Lawson loves the outdoors and has become quite the fan of the play set as well.  The swing makes him smile instantly and has started testing out the slide more and more.
  • Bath time is the perfect cure when he is grumpy.  He will sit and splash around in there forever.
  • Peek-A-Boo is his favorite game to play
  • Lawson still idolizes his big brother and wants to do whatever he is doing.  He wants to play with all of the big boy toys and wrestle around on the floor with him all the time.  Lukas is doing pretty good with him and likes to have his brother right there beside him.
  • I think the wagon is Lawson's choice of transportation.  He is starting to dislike his carseat more and more.

Holding Hands

I just LOVE these two!!!

Such a happy boy!

Hall of Fame

This past week I got to be a part of something special.  My college basketball team got inducted into the MIAA Hall of Fame.  We were inducted for our National Championship in 2005.  They had a ceremony for all inductees for 2013, and listed off all of the accomplishments we had for the year.  The best part was getting to see my old team mates, parents, and our fans that came.  We spent the evening reminiscing on the past and talking about all of the great memories.  I look forward to seeing everyone again :)

Our First Week

As we work on getting settled into the house (pictures to come later) we also take breaks to aget out into our new area and see what is here.  I think my favorite stop so far was our trip to Yogurtini one evening.  I had heard of places like this but had not gotten the chance to try it.  I can't wait to go back!  The boys and I also ventured to the KC Zoo one day to see what it is all about.  Lukas has a love for zoos and animals so we were excited.  I think Lawson enjoyed riding in the stroller with Lukas more than anything  It was our first of many more I'm sure.  When it isn't raining we enjoy our time outside playing on the play set.  We have had some visitors already and look forward to the summer ahead.
