Lexi 8 Months

Lexi is 8 months old today.  It doesn't seem possible.

Update:

  • Lexi seems to be tiny when I compare her to others.  Although a lot of those comparisons are to older babies :)  She seems to be doing just fine and growing.
  • She wears 6-9 month clothes and just went up to size 3 diapers
  • Sleep has been going great lately.  I hate to talk about it for fear of messing it up.  She takes 2-3 naps a day still.  The morning and afternoon for sure.  Sometimes a cat nap in the evening.  They vary in length depending on our schedule that day.
  • She is a pretty content baby most of the time.  Completely content if you are willing to stand and hold her when she cries.  She has gotten better at playing on the floor for periods of time.  She is usually fine unless she spots mom and then thinks she needs to be held.
  • Lexi has started scooting a little bit.  It is done usually more out of frustration then actual effort.  I was looking back at the other kiddos who were all crawling in some way at 8 months.  I think she just doesn't see a need to move.  Someone will bring her what she wants if she makes enough noise.
  • She has found her voice more this month.  She has happy little yells and growls frequently.
  • When Lexi gets excited, her arms start going crazy.  It is funny to watch.
  • She loves to share her smiles everyone morning with her siblings.  She loves to watch them and when they interact with her.
  • I think I am going to have another little daddy's girl.  She searches for him and just gives the biggest smiles to him.  If he is working on something she will just stare at him until he gives her attention.
  • She eats usually two meals a day of food.  Sometimes it is baby food, but we have started more table food as well. She grabs at anything within reach.
  • Drools constantly, still just the 2 teeth.
  • We are enjoying the cuddles while we can still get them from her.  I know she is going to get busier and busier in the next few months.

Easter

Holidays continue to get better and better with the kids.  Their excitement in everything makes it that more special.  Easter was no exception this year.  The kids were looking forward to it and we had a great time celebrating.

Working on eggs.... no shirts allowed :)

Ready to go!

Here we go again

Lawson 4 1/2

Half year birthday for Mr. Lawson is here.  The little man has had a lot of changes in the past 6 months and taking them all in stride.  He is growing like a weed too!

One big change for him is school.  Lawson has started his first year of preschool and is doing very well.  He is very quiet about school.  He seems to like it, but has very little to say about it :)  He is not one to come home and want to work on or practice things.  He tends to shut down pretty quickly if we ask him questions about letters and numbers.  His teacher says he does a great job in class though so we will just let it be for now.   He has gotten to make some new friends and likes to go and play.  The highlight of his day though seems to be when he sees Luke at school and gets to wave at him.

Luke going to school all day was another big adjustment for him.  I wasn't sure how Lawson was going to do since he likes to do whatever Luke is doing.  It has been such a pleasant surprise though watching Lawson and Laney's relationship grow.  Those two love to play together and have become so close.

Lawson loves to interact with his baby sister Lexi.  He probably gives her the most attention out of the kids.  He loves to lay down on the floor with her and talk or play with her.  It is the cutest thing.  She gives him the biggest smiles and he just eats it up.  He is a great big brother.

Lawson is our rough and tough kiddo that loves to do any kind of wrestling or tackling.  If you get down on the floor at all you have to be ready for his flying leap on your back.  If he spots you at his level, he is coming at you.

Lawson loves anything dairy.  He requests cheese, milk, ice cream, cottage cheese, macaroni and cheese, cheese pizza, etc... when you ask him what he wants to eat.

He is into animals, super heros, or playing anything outside.  He has a great imagination.  However he doesn't like it when the sun shines in his face so summer should be interesting.  Lawson has started to really enjoy riding his bike and looking forward to swimming this summer.  He loves to have people come to our house to play.  Every morning he asks if someone is or can come over.  Apparently all the siblings aren't enough for him :)

Lawson's personalities goes to both extremes I feel.  He can be the sweetest most caring little guy.  He likes to keep others happy and does whatever when playing with others.  When he gets stuck on a thought though he will hold to it.  He can be very stubborn when in the right mood.   We don't see that side too much but its there.  He is getting more independent and we have loved watching him grow.  His little squinty smile makes my heart melt everytime.

Spring Break

Spring Break this year got a little more special since Luke is in school full time now.  He was excited to have the week off along with dad.  We did some fun things throughout the week and then got away for a little bit over the weekend.  Nothing crazy, but enjoyed the family time we had.

Of course we had to check out the zoo, a Beck kid favorite

The boys and I decided to try out rollerskating.

On Friday we headed up to Olathe.  We stayed in a hotel for the night for a little bit of a vaction.  The kiddos loved it and were excited about swimming at the hotel.  Doesn't take much to get smiles from these three :)

Yes, we are those kids with all the life jackets.  Swim lessons are a MUST this summer :)

We got to attend two birthday parties while in Olathe.  Keeley was turning 3 and held Trollsteous.  The Troll movie is a favorite in our house so we thought it was great.  Then Reese turned 5 and had a party at a gymnastics place.  The kids loved running around and trying out all the different equipment.  Everyone was worn out but the end of the day!

Thats a wrap for Spring Break 2017.  Looking forward to summer right around the corner!
