Erin and Luke got to go to a Chiefs training camp day.
For those of you that don't know, Lukas has decided to change his name and start going by Luke.  This was always something we thought about, but I didn't realize he would want to change it so early.  Erin would call him Luke sometimes and he would always correct him.  Then for whatever reason when he turned 4 he said now that he is four his name is Luke.  I didn't know if this was just a thing for the day or what, but he stuck with it and introduces himself to people as Luke now.  Erin and I have been working very hard to adjust.  He still replies to Lukas, but we are working on the transition I guess.  Always something new :)
My sweet little boy
This little guy is hardly little anymore.  Erin and I can't believe how big he has gotten.  He seems so tall now and just runs around like his brother.  My baby is growing up on us.

Preschool Here We Come

Luke has started preschool!  He has been very excited about the whole experience since the first time we mentioned it.  He knows Dad and Mom go to school everyday and was excited for his chance to start.  He only goes half days twice a week.  I think he would love to go more, but Mom is just not ready for that.  I love the school mornings though because he jumps out of bed so easily and happy just ready to go.

Since we were back at work already I did not get to take him, which was hard, but it helped because Erin took off for the morning so he could take him.  Luke was so excited to show Daddy his classroom and meet his teacher.  We had gone to the Back-to-School night so Luke had already gotten a little taste of what was coming.  He was excited about all of the dinosaurs that his teacher showed him.  Erin got to walk him in and get him situated, but then said his goodbyes without any hesitation from the little man. (tear, tear)

He has figured out the routine and will talk about his day.  We try to ask a lot of questions and get some insight, sometimes we get a lot of information and sometimes none.  Luke is a very friendly little boy and doesn't hesitate introducing himself.  He has learned all of the names of kids in his class (there are only 5).  I'm not exactly sure how he behaves and acts there, but his reports so far have been good :)  We were the first day of snacks, which stressed me out a bit (I know that is silly, but I'm a first timer here).  Next time he takes snacks though he gets to take something to share as well so I can only imagine what that will be.

Our school year is off with a bang and keeping us on our toes!  November is almost here right :)

Baby Beck #3

I know it is bad when I am getting ready to enter the 3rd trimester with this baby, and I have hardly mentioned anything about he/she on my blog other than that we are expecting.  Baby bump pics have been minimal.  Hopefully I do a little better job of acknowledging the baby on here when it actually arrives.  I wouldn't want my 3rd child to feel any less loved or less important.  In looking back though I have never done a real good job of documenting my pregnancies on here.  I have been trying to think and look back without much luck to compare other than my memory.

Anyway moving on.... here is the update I have:

  • I am at the 6 month mark with 3 months to go.  Feels like I still have a lot of time, but I know it will go fast.  November will be here before we know it.
  • I started out more nauseous with this one than the last.  It seems to get a little worse each time, but nothing as bad as some women deal with.  I really can't complain.
  • Through the 2nd trimester I have felt really good.  Probably a little too good with the eating part according to my doctor :)
  • I have been trying to exercise frequently.  Some weeks are better than others.  I can only imagine what I looked like to people driving by in my single jogging stroller with both children sitting on top of each other and me wogging (yes I call it wogging) behind them.
  • My weight gain seems to fluctuate a lot.  Don't get me wrong it is always a gain, just some months more than others, not real consistent.  I blame it on summer vacation.
  • We did not find out the sex of the baby again just like we didn't with Lawson.  I originally thought maybe girl, but I think I am leaning more towards boy now.  The only dreams I have had are girl though so who knows.
  • Erin thinks its a boy, but I"m not sure if he really thinks that or just unsure what to do with a little girl (I know he would have a little girls wrapped around his finger in a heart beat)
  • Lukas goes back and forth.  He originally said baby sister because he already has a little brother and didn't see a need for another one.  After attending a gender reveal party where they opened a gift to find out the gender, he is convinced we just need to get one of those gifts.  Not quite how it works buddy.
  • Lawson is pretty laid back about the whole thing and doesn't seem to really know what is going on, typical response I guess from a little boy his age.
  • My appetite has started to shift again a little in the past week.  I am hoping it is just the business of back to work and not something that is going to stick around for the whole last trimester.
  • I feel like my body hasn't handled this pregnancy as easily as the past.  I just feel more aches and pains than I remember, Erin says I"m just getting old.

Mr. and Mrs. Engelbrecht

For our last weekend of summer we got to help celebrate Elisha (Erin's sister) and Josh's wedding.  It was a great weekend of wedding festivities, fun, and family.  Lukas and Lawson were ring bears for the wedding.  This was a first for Lawson so I didn't know how we were going to do.  He is such a copy cat of big brother though I figured if we could get Lukas down the aisle, Lawson would follow.  They did great and everyone thought they were adorable (I have to agree)  We spent the afternoon and evening then partying the night away.  The boys did very well and loved the dance.  Lawson was tearing up the dance floor, especially a fan of the dj's lights.  I did capture a few moments from the weekend.

Congrats again to Josh and Elisha!  It was a beautiful wedding and such a great weekend with everyone together.  Welcome to the family Josh!

Party, Party, Party!

This year for Lukas' birthday we had some scattered plans so I decided we would just do some birthday celebrations for him all week.  Who doesn't want to stretch their birthday out for multiple days.  The weekend before we were back in Claflin so did a little get together with his grandparents and some family.  We had a little pizza party and cake.  He loved it all!

Then on Wednesday evening we had his friends birthday party.  Of course I had been thinking with it being middle of July it was going to be hot and a water party would be fun.  I rented a blow up water slide to play in.  Oddly enough we had the coolest week ever in July I think and it was like 70 degrees.  Although it canceled the water part of the slide the kids still loved the bounce house part and it made for a wonderful evening out doors.  We had all sorts of friends/cousins that could make it and had a great time.

This guy ate nothing but sugar all week I'm pretty sure.

What a crew.... Hagen, Ava, Thomas, Huxten, Reese, Cade, Lawson, Lukas and Keeley
On his actual birthday we went and celebrated at one of his cousin's parties.  He loved getting to play with all the other kids.  We did a special Birthday dinner for him at Texas Roadhouse so he could get some ice cream and ride on the saddle.  It was a great birthday week!

Apparently neither boy wanted to break through the tissue paper.

Happy Birthday Lukas!!!  We LOVE you!!
