When Mom is Away.....

So the first game of the year is this Friday for the GB Panthers.  At the scrimmage last week you would notice the new hair cuts that many of the boys had when they took their helmets off on the sidelines.  It is one of those great team bonding things that boys do, why wouldn't they all want mowhawks.  Well over the weekend I had heard from a couple of the other wives how their young sons got their heads shaved as well.  (Can you see where this is going yet?)  These boys are the adorable ball boys that are down on the sidelines that Lukas just watches and idolizes from the stands.  He is still just a little young to join them, although he probably disagrees.  Anyway back to the story, so I had a class Monday night for school.  As I am sitting there I get a picture message...

Yep you guessed it.  My adorable little 2 year old boy now matches those high school boys with his own little mowhawk!  It will take me a little while to get used to, but he is still an adorable little boy with the biggest smile and wears it quite well :)  I figure hair will always grow back, at his age anyway.

I will say that I am very thankful my husband did not joing the ranks.  That might be just a little too much for me to handle :)

Busy Back to School

Well I apologize for my absense these past couple of weeks.  We are trying to get adjusted to the back to school life.  We have had a lot going on and pretty exhausted by the time bedtime rolls around, so blogging has not been on the top of my list of things to do.

Lukas is loving his new daycare and comes home every day talking about all of his new friends.  Our potty training has regressed a little with the change, but hopefully that will get better here soon.  I am enjoying all of my new students and trying to get things prepared for when I got on maternity leave.  I feel a little overwhelmed with all of it, but I'm sure it will all be ready when the time comes around.  (We are down to 7 weeks until due date btw)  Erin is keeping busy with school starting again and football practice.  They have their first game on Friday and we can't wait.  I just love the fall and football season :)

Hopefully I will be back soon to update again, but thats all for now.

I thought I would share just a couple of Lukas' 2 year pics that we got taken.  They turned out GREAT! I just LOVE this little guy :)

Weekend Away

Lukas and I went on our last little vacation before school starts for me.  Erin had a coach's retreat, so instead of sitting around at home missing him, we decided to head to Omaha and visit Christy.  Luckily Beth came along as well so we didn't have to make the trip alone.  I love getting to hang out with my sisters and it just never seems long enough.  We had a GREAT time though and shared a lot of laughs.

Christy and Beth were troopers and did about all the little kid stuff imaginable.  Lukas has been talking about them and the trip for a couple of days now.  I know he enjoyed all of the extra attention, as if he needs to be spoiled anymore :)

We took a lot of pictures, but Lukas is very hard to photograph sometimes without him looking somewhere else.  Anyway here is our trip to share.

Birthday presents from Christy and Mitch

And don't forget the cupcakes

Teaching Christy to jump like a frog

We built a lot of tents and pillow piles to jump in.

Watching some Olympics with Beth

First trip to Chuck E Cheese

Went and checked out the Children's Museum

Had to go back to the zoo as well.  Lukas LOVES animals

Thank you both for such a GREAT weekend!!! Love you

Staying Cool

With the extreme heat outside, we have been staying cool indoors.  A couple of weeks ago we thought we would try to take Lukas bowling for the first time.  It was so much fun, and Lukas loved it!  They even gave us a little ramp to use so he could push it off by himself.  It was a great family afternoon :)
