11 Months Old for Lexi

We are a month away from our baby being one!!!  I can't believe it.  I'm not ready to think about all that quite yet though.  Lexi is changing more and more and we know the crazy will only continue.  We are just tying to enjoy the little moments loving on her!

Update:
  • We have gotten out the 12 month tub of clothes.  I haven't gotten into that drawer much yet except for pajamas.  That is mostly because there are some short sets for her to sleep in instead of the sleepers.
  • Little Miss is into everything she can get her hands on.  If you don't want her to mess with it, keep it up high out of her reach.
  • The bathroom has become her new favorite place to get into.  We try to keep the door closed, but everyone now and then she will see the opening and dart in there.  She found the toilet paper this week and likes to unroll it.  She also tried to help by cleaning Luke's socks in the toilet.
  • She has gained another tooth on the bottom, which makes a total of 7.
  • Movement wise she has figured out the crawling and is pretty quick now.
  • She stands on anything and everything.  She has started to move around on furniture just a bit.
  • We have been spending a lot of time outside this summer which has been difficult with her.  She likes to get down and explore, which really means eat everything off the ground she can.
  • Lexi has been enjoying swimming and splashing in the water this month
  • She also went on her first family vacation to Omaha and loved seeing the animals at the zoo
  • Lexi loves to stand at the door or window and look outside.  It is the perfect greeting when you come home.
  • She does a lot more talking as well.  We tried watching a movie the other night as a family and she would not stop.  She just jabbered away the whole time.

Lexi, you have the brightest smile!  Anytime someone looks at you your face just lights up.  We love watching you grow and change daily.

Luke's is 7!!!

Every year I say this and I'm sure it will continue, but I can't believe how old Luke is getting.  I have done a lot of reminiscing about him lately and have loved sharing stories with him.  We have gotten to do a lot of celebrating our little boy, who is not so little anymore.

We started out on Monday evening doing our grandparent dinner.  Luke got to pick the menu and for the second year in a row has requested a seafood feast.  Erin did a great job of manning the grill and the food was delicious.  He got to open some presents and topped the night off with cake.

The banner was made years ago so it has Lukas.  I told him when I work on Lexi's I will switch it to Luke.  Maybe it will be done for his 8th :)

He got a new bike!

To keep the celebration going we had to go to Luke's favorite place, Playa Azul, for dinner this week.  It was not expecting the birthday tradition that they do and loved it.  Lawson quickly requested that we go there for his birthday as well.

Luke also wanted to have a water party in our backyard with some friends.  We went and got some water guns and water balloons for the afternoon.  I would have thought the water balloons would have lasted us a little while, but 200 balloons were gone in about 5 minutes :)  They had a g.ood time running around and acting silly.

We had a great time celebrating Luke all week.  He is such a fun, loving, caring little boy.  I really enjoy having one on one conversations with him lately.  His mind is always going and thinking of new things.  Luke has become very helpful this summer with his brother and sisters, which Erin and I greatly appreciate.  We look forward to all the fun and new experiences we have ahead of us!

Family Get Away

For the last part of Erin's week off, we decided to get away and enjoy some time with our kiddos.  It was nothing crazy but just swimming in the hotel pool was exciting to them.  Our kids are big animal lovers so we headed to Omaha to check out the zoo.  We had been years ago when Luke was just a baby and enjoyed it, but watching the kids excitement made it a great trip.  It was a full day of animals and walking and the kids were troopers.  We saw it all!  It was a wonderful getaway for just a few days.
