A Second Winter Break

We are heading back to work tomorrow after having the last 5 1/2 days off.  We got to enjoy some quality family time together with all of the extra time off from snow days.  I loved every second of it!  It was great to sit inside as the flakes kept coming and we could just watch and enjoy the warm air from the fireplace.  We even tried snow ice cream for the first time.  The boys are not going to know what is going on when they go back to daycare tomorrow.  I know they will be excited to play with all of their friends though.  I will miss cuddling with my boys, but we need to get back to the routine at some point I guess.  At least it is only a 4 day week left.

Here are some pictures of what we have been up to.

Show Me State

Change can be very exciting and scary at the same time.  Change is something that I am not used to.  I like to stick with things I know, but our family has decided to take on a new adventure.  We are moving to Independence, Missouri.  The opportunity came for Erin to be a defensive coordinator and strength and conditioning teacher at Truman High School, where he will be working under his high school coach.  Erin and I had to do a lot of thinking about this decision.  It was not an easy one, but we felt it was an opportunity that doesn't come around very often and we just couldn't pass it up.  It will be very difficult to leave our family and friends here.  We have such great support.  The drive is not terrible though and we look forward to coming back to visit and people making the trip to see us.  We are excited about being closer to so many other family members and friends in that area and to have Gregg and Kelli there with us making the change.  The boys will have a whole new group of babysitters between Kelli and the girls.  The next couple of months are going to be pretty crazy with packing, moving, house hunting, school finishing and throw my sister's wedding festivities in there and our schedule is full.

Missouri here we come!

4 Months

Lawson is 4 months old today.  The little man is a trooper and just goes with the flow daily.  He made it through 3 nights of ball games this week and loves all of the action going on around him.  He has realized that if you don't sleep all day there are so many things to watch and look at :)

Monthly Pics:

Lawson this month:
  • Laughing and smiling at everyone
  • Wearing 0-3 month clothes still, but 3-6 are reading in his dresser and will be soon
  • Diapers are 1's but heading into 2's
  • He drinks 6 oz. bottles every 4 hours about (no formula yet)
  • At night he has slept through the night (9-6) many times, but gets up once sometimes
  • Rolls around and likes to be on his tummy
  • Moves all over the place in his bed
  • Watches Lukas very closely trying to figure out what he is doing all the time
  • Loves to look at his reflection in mirrors
  • Drools and blows bubbles all the time
  • Still sucks on his fingers and hands, but needs the paci to soothe himself
  • Loves to cuddle up nice and close to fall asleep
  • Is getting so much better at holding his head up
  • Lawson's hair is starting to fall out on top :(  I hope he doesn't lose it all

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

The day has come, leaving Lawson alone on the floor or bed is not safe anymore.  He has started to roll.  He is not real consistent with it yet, but I am sure it is only a matter of time.  Last week he went from his tummy to his back.  Lukas was able to demonstrate this for me as he rolled Lawson onto his tummy, you know some brotherly assistance, and Lawson just flipped right back.  I am not sure if it was really his goal though or if that heavy head of his just took him over.  This week he has started going from his back to his tummy.  He loves to lay on his tummy and look around, just laughing and smiling.  Such a happy little boy!
