Summer Time

Schoooools Out for the SUMMER!!!   Every year this time gets more and more exciting.  I know many of you are hating teachers right now as we talk about getting our two months off before school starts back up, but in our defense, I really do believe that I need these two months to regroup and gain a little sanity back.  Otherwise I'm not sure I can survive teaching 70 middle school students each year.

The last day of school is always a little bitter sweet.  It always takes a little while before it completely sets in for me.  It is sad to me though that some of my students I will never have in class again.  They have such great personalities and are at an interesting age.  As crazy as they are at times, it can still be very entertaining to be around.  I as well though am excited for the summer and enjoying my time home with my family.  It is going to be a busy summer, but hopefully things will slow down a little during the weeks and Erin, Lukas, and I can enjoy some special time together.

I am just hoping that I do get a little motivated this summer and get some of those projects that I planned for next school year ready.  It seems like such a great idea to work on things in June and July when I am planning it out in May, but the time goes by faster than I realize sometimes.

10 Months Old!

Lukas is 10 months old today.  I  can't believe how big my baby boy is.  I laugh every time we go to rock and he just doesn't fit in my arms like he used to.  I have to maneuver those legs just right to get us comfortable and relaxing, instead of a kicking game with the arm rest :)  We are also discovering that those baby blues (yes they are still blue to our surprise) and that adorable grin are going to be very very difficult to say no to.

Lukas this month:

• He is checking everything out around him.  He wants to get into every cabinet possible!
• Loves to stand up on things and run circles around coffee table and ottomans.
• Moving more from one piece of furniture to another
• Has started to eat more table food instead of the baby food.
• His 3rd tooth has started to come in. (It has been a rough one)
• Loves to clap for people
• Waves bye-bye if you got him focused on you and not a toy :)
• Has become a little more attached to Mom and Dad, just in time for SUMMER
• I think the Mama sound could be his first word, Erin is still not sure :)
• Loves to drink from his sippy cup
• Likes to crawl up the stairs with a spotter
• Likes going on runs/walks with Mom and Amanda
• Loves to make lots of different sounds with his mouth

More Bath Time

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted.  We have been very busy around here with a lot of exciting things going on.  We have been in Olathe the last two weekends for two big events.

The first one was to celebrate Cade's 1st Birthday!!!  I can't believe he is one already.  Jana put together a great party.  Cade got all sorts of presents and it was very entertaining to watch him check them all out.

The second weekend was to go and celebrate Beth's graduation from Mid America Nazarene.  We are so proud of her!  Again we got to hang out with my family for the weekend.  Lukas loved going to Cade's house and having all sorts of "new" toys to play with.  Those two are a lot of fun to watch together. 

I was a little worried how Lukas would do with traveling that far, especially back to back weekends.  He has not done a lot of distance traveling.  Luckily he did great and made the trip very enjoyable.
