Spring Break

As the saying goes....All good things must come to an end.  That is how are week is wrapping up.  We had a great time getting to just hang out and enjoy the break this past week.  I loved being home with Lukas and playing all day long.  He is starting to get quite active with his crawling and trying to figure out more and more around the house.  We can't turn our heads without him getting into something.  Atleast we did get some baby proofing done; I'm sure there will be more that needs to be done.

It was my 26th birthday on Friday.  We had some friends over that evening to watch the basketball games.  Lukas was lucky and his little buddies got to come hang out too :)

 I had a track meet in Hays on Saturday.  It was a very cold day, but they actually ran the meet pretty fast.  I was excited to get back home to my boys.  They apparently were very busy on Saturday as well. (See picture below)

and this is the new project in the backyard.....lets just hope they can get it working :)

All in all it was a great spring break.  Now back to school and back to a schedule.  Summer break is just around the corner, right :)

8 months old!

Here we are again....another month has come and gone.  Lukas turned 8 months old today!  We have been around some little babies lately, and they just make me realize how big Lukas has gotten.  He is such a blessing to our lives!

Lukas this month:

• Still LOVES to eat.  He is up for trying anything we put in front of him.
• The "Puff" treats have become a live saver when we are out and about.  They keep him very entertained.  I love watching him focus so hard on grabbing one and getting it to his mouth.  He is getting better!
• He is weighing in around 17 lbs.
• He really enjoys playing with his toys and likes to read if the timing is right.
• Bath time has become quite entertaining, Lukas splashes water everywhere.  He just laughs and screams the whole time.
• Is trying to clap, but has not quite figured out the whole concept of it yet.
• He also likes to stick his tongue out.
  
• Lukas tries to pull himself up on anything he can.  He loves to stand.
• Sleeps through the night on most nights and likes to sleep in on weekends. (Mom and Dad are loving it)
• Milestone of the month.....Lukas is CRAWLING!!!  After a weeks and weeks of teasing us with it, he has started moving.  It is adorable to watch.  He is not real fast yet, but figuring it out.

New Little Buddy!

Another one of Lukas' buddies has arrived!  On Thursday afternoon, Katrina and Jordan had their baby boy, Mack Jordan Hickel.  I am so excited for them.  For those of you that don't know, Katrina and Jordan are a very special couple to Erin and me.  Jordan and Erin grew up together, and Katrina and I were best friends in high school.  They are one of those "couple friends" that we didn't have to worry about whether the spouses would get along :)  Anyway back to what is important.  We got to go see him Friday and he is absolutely perfect!  Dad and Mom are doing great as well.  I am anxious to introduce Lukas to him.  I can't wait for all of the play dates (and hopefully sporting events) that we will have in our future.  I know that Katrina and Jordan are going to be GREAT parents.  We look forward to watching Mack grow!  Love you guys!!!!
