EASTER

Easter is a perfect start to Spring.  It gives us a chance to reflect on all the blessings we have and the sacrifice that Jesus made for us.  I love getting to spend time with our family and make such great memories.  This isn't Lukas' first Easter, but it was the first one he got more involved in.  We did three egg hunts and even attempted to dye eggs.  We missed the family we didn't get to see, but loved catching up with those that were here.

I am just going to share our pictures.  Please disregard the scowl looks on Lukas' face.  He just tends to do that in the sun.  (He gets that from his father).

Okay I have this bucket, now what

Aunt Beth came to support as well

All for it again

Our buddy Mack was there.  Lukas was more interested in the candy surrounding him though.

All the eggs he got.... almost 30!!

Big fan of "stirring" the egg

I think they are annoyed by their mothers always wanting pictures of them together.

Meeting Little Reese

This past weekend we made a trip up to Olathe to meet our new little niece Reese Keeley.  She is as adorable as she looked in all of the pictures.  I could have just sat and cuddled with her all weekend.  We had not been up to Matt and Jana's in awhile so it was good to see them.  Christy, Mitch and Beth also made the trip so we got some great family bonding time.

Lukas and Cade were very entertaining to us again.  They seem to pick up right where they left off last time they were together.  I love watching them interact!  They had a great time playing cars with Aunt Christy and Aunt Beth.

These two also did a lot of cooking in Cade's kitchen.  We may have a couple of chefs on our hands :)

Uncle Erin and Reese getting in a little nap

Cade was a pro at holding his sister.

Lukas was a little unsure, but held her long enough for a picture.

We went to Dustin and Krystal's to watch the KU game and got to hang out with Kandice and Nate.  It was a great evening with great basketball.  Lukas and Hagen wore each other out going through all of the toys and playing on the trampoline.

Thanks to everyone for such a GREAT weekend!

Spring Break

Well we get back on our normal schedule tomorrow.....our spring break is over.  We were able to do a lot of things though and get in lots and lots of family time.

On Friday when break started, Erin and I headed out to Colorado with our friends, Amanda and Dustin, for a little vacation in the mountains.  We started out in Denver for two days.  The weather was wonderful and we were able to get out and enjoy it.  We went downtown on St.Patty's Day to watch some of the basketball games.  Little did we know that Denver has a HUGE parade and there were people everywhere.  We got stuck in the middle of it all and it took us a bit just to get through it and find a place to eat, but we did and were able to enjoy the afternoon.  We also got to take the tour of the Coors Brewery in Golden.  Erin was the only one who had never been there, so it was something to check out before we left.

We then headed up the mountains a bit to Breckenridge for two days.  Erin and Dustin did a little skiing/snowboarding while Amanda and I went shopping.  It was a lot colder, but we still had a great time hanging out and eating a lot :)

While we were out of town Lukas got to spend some time with his grandparents.  He hung out with Grandpa and Grandma Keeley for two days and then went to Claflin for two days with Grandpa and Grandma Beck.  This was the longest I had been away from him so I was a little worried (by worried I mean for me, not Lukas, he loved being with his grandparents).  We all had a great 4 days and were happy to be back together for the rest of break!

Here are the pictures we received while out of town :)

**I will tell you about the rest of our break on another post.  This is all I got for now**

Like Father Like Son

Lukas is a blonde haired blue eyed (although I think they are changing) little boy, but he is getting more and more like his Daddy everyday.  It is amazing to me how much this little boy idolizes his daddy.  I mean yes he smiles at me and gives me hugs and all that good stuff, but he wants to copy everything that daddy does.

With all this nice weather lately, Erin has gotten out and started on some yard stuff and Lukas is right there two steps behind him.  Lukas will observe for a couple of minutes and then jump right in and want to do things all my himself.  He was raking the yard and spreading grass seed yesterday :)  He loves to go out and check the sprinklers with him also.  He stares off into the yard looking as if he actually knows what they are looking at.

Lukas has so many characteristics of Erin it just makes me smile.  The child hates to be dirty!  When he eats his meals and his fingers get too dirty he stops and has to have them cleaned off before he can continue.  He will also find the smallest pieces of trash or rocks on the ground and have to put it in the trash before he can continue playing.  He actually took the dustbuster from Erin the other day and cleaned up the floor.  It was hilarious :)

Lukas is quite the little man and I hope he continues to want to be like his Daddy!

His new version of football.  He thinks its hilarious when Erin knocks it out of his mouth.
