Busy, Busy, Busy...

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted.  We have been very busy around here with a lot of exciting things going on.  We have been in Olathe the last two weekends for two big events.

The first one was to celebrate Cade's 1st Birthday!!!  I can't believe he is one already.  Jana put together a great party.  Cade got all sorts of presents and it was very entertaining to watch him check them all out.

The second weekend was to go and celebrate Beth's graduation from Mid America Nazarene.  We are so proud of her!  Again we got to hang out with my family for the weekend.  Lukas loved going to Cade's house and having all sorts of "new" toys to play with.  Those two are a lot of fun to watch together. 

I was a little worried how Lukas would do with traveling that far, especially back to back weekends.  He has not done a lot of distance traveling.  Luckily he did great and made the trip very enjoyable.

Easter Weekend

Easter is a holiday that I remember a lot growing up.  Mom always had us girls all dressed in matching dresses, our hats and purses, our baskets setting out when we woke up, and getting to search the yard for eggs after we got home from church.  Erin and I worked hard to start things off right for Lukas' first Easter.  I realize he may not remember it, but I will.

We started out Saturday morning going over to Claflin to do his first egg hunt with his cousins Loghan and Hagen.  It was a success after we figured it out to carry him out to the far area of eggs since the kids jump all over the eggs in the front.

 For dinner we went over to Grandpa and Grandma Keeley's.  They gave him his Easter gift and lets just say Lukas was not real sure about it....okay worse than that he was terrified of it.  They had found a bunny that sang and his ears flopped around.  When we turned it on, Lukas started crying.  He just started at it the rest of the evening.  We will try it again next year.

 We were all dressed in our Sunday best for church.  I love dressing him up for church.  We checked out the Easter basket before we left.

After church we went to Claflin for lunch and then out to Larned for the afternoon.  It was a busy day, but we had a good time seeing everyone!

9 Months Old

Here is Lukas' 9 month update!  He is getting more and more active and involved in the things around him.  He is a great baby and we are loving watching him grow.  (I just wish it would slow down a little.)  :)

Things about Lukas this month:

• Talking and making noises like crazy...it doesn't make much sense to us, but he goes on and on
• Does a lot of Dadadad and a little Mamama sounds, but not attaching it to Erin or me yet
• Loves to blow bubbles with his lips and make the clicking sound with his tongue
• Crawls all over the place.  He is trying to figure out everything around him.
• Loves to drum and hammer with his toys.
• Lukas loves to eat still and has started to favor fruits, especially applesauce and bananas
• Still just has 2 teeth but wants to bite and chew on everything
• Stands and walks around on furniture
• Has started to learn what the word "NO" means
• Lukas is starting to get some hair and the fine hairs tend to stick up everywhere :)
• Since the weather is getting nicer we have been out on some walks and Lukas LOVES to ride in his stroller

Lukas has discovered the tupperware cabinet.  I love watching him pull all different things out and try to move them.  I decided to give him a wooden spoon and let him go to work.  He loved it!  We could have a future musician on our hands :)

Bumper Cars

For Christmas Lukas got a bumper car from Grandpa and Grandma Beck.  We brought it upstairs and have been testing it out.  Lukas thinks it is great.  He is not big enough to push himself around on it yet, so Erin or I have to do the pushing for him.  It is fun, but very tiring going up and down the hallway.  When we stop, Lukas will start yelling and crying.  We thought this was because he was scared and didn't like it, but we are wrong.  He did not want us to stop....even to give our legs a break.  Maybe this toy will get us into shape :)
